16 central enterprises to form electric vehicle industry alliance
The leaders of 16 China's centrally administered enterpriseswill gather in Beijing on August 18 to set up an electric vehicle industry alliance, aiming to improve the unification of the related technical standards, better master the core technology of electric vehicles and create internationally competitive Chinese electric car enterprises and brands, media reported today.
It is reported that the participating central enterprises expect to establish an open technology platform, through unified industry technical standards, to jointly develop the new technology of electric vehicles, sharing technological achievements.
Involved central enterprises will need to sign certain agreements before staring the each project. In addition to sharing resources with each other, favorable conditions should be provided to the members who do not take part in products research and development when transferring a resource. The non-participants will have to pay for the resources.
The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) expects to avoid wasteful spending and excess capacity in the development of electric vehicles, and to put the Chinese-made electric cars on the road as soon as possible, an industry analyst said.
