Bosch builds summer test track in China
Robert Bosch GmbH says it will start construction of a summer test track in Donghai, in southeastern Jiangsu Province, the German supplier's second Chinese test track.
The facility will test anti-lock brakes, electronic stability systems and traction control applications, said Bosch spokesperson Jennifer Jiang. It also will test advanced technologies such as combined active and passive safety systems.
Construction begins in October.
Bosch also maintains a winter test facility in Yakeshi in China's northern province of Inner Mongolia. Bosch invested 150 million yuan ($22 million) to build it.
Bosch is No. 2 on Automotive News' list of the Top 100 Global Suppliers. Asia accounts for 24 percent of Bosch's global sales, which totaled $25.6 billion last year.
