2009 Honda Fit outscores rivals in Consumer Reports subcompact test
The new redesigned 2009 Honda Fit outscored its competitors including the Toyota Yaris and the Nissan Versa in the latest Consumer Reports’ tests of six subcompacts and small sedans for the March 2009 issue. The Honda Fit also became one of the hottest-selling cars when gasoline prices were over $4 a gallon. The designed Fit is larger making it a hit with consumers.
Consumer Reports tested two trim-levels of the fit. The base model with an automatic transmission and the upscale Sport model with a manual transmission both scored “Very Good” on overall road tests. The Toyota Yaris and the Chevrolet Aveo5 both earned an overall rating of “Good.”
The base 2008 Honda Fit starts at $16,020.
Full tests and ratings of the test group appear in the March issue of Consumer Reports, which goes on sale February 3.
