Citroën Elevates Design Chief

PARIS — Jean Pierre Ploué has been elevated to director of design for PSA Peugeot Citroën after distinguishing himself at the helm of Citroën's design department since 2000. The appointment was effective today.Ploué will head all styling teams for both Peugeot and Citroën, which have a combined design center in Vélizy, France, and will report to management board member and Executive Vice President Grégoire Olivier, the company said. Ploué takes over as Jérôme Gallix departs as head of Peugeot design to pursue unnamed other projects. Gallix had been in the post since 2007 and was at the helm for the design of the RC Concept that will make its debut at the Paris auto show this week.What this means to you: A little house-cleaning at the French company just in time for the Paris show. — Laura Sky Brown, Correspondent
