Slow Striptease of the Chevrolet Volt Begins
DETROIT - General Motors continued to ramp up the buzz about its electric Chevrolet Volt over the weekend, giving ABC News a brief glimpse of part of the production car.
Michael Simcoe, executive director of exterior design at General Motors, literally peeled back the sheet on a production Volt, showing off a single, futuristic-looking headlight and a part of the front end.
An ABC News reporter, sitting in what appears to be a prototype interior of the Volt, sometimes called a 'buck,' describes the cabin as 'iPod-esque.' But it was clear that GM officials were not allowing a look at the cabin.
ABC News described the development of the electric Volt as 'the automotive equivalent of the moon shot.'
