Audi China sales up 19% in Jan-Oct

Audi AG, the luxury car maker owned by Volkswagen AG, has sold more than 100,000 cars in China in the first ten months of this year, up 19% compared with the same period of last year, sources reported.
 
As the second largest market of Audi in the whole world, China is becoming more and more important in the the automaker's global strategy. In 2007, Audi sold 100,888 units in China (excluding Hong Kong) with a year-on-year growth rate of 24.8%.
 
According to Peter Schwarzenbauer, a member of the management board of Audi, the German automaker is expected to sell 1 million vehicles worldwide this year despite the global financial crisis. It is expected to be the largest luxury automobile supplier by 2015.
