Experts advise on Chongqing auto-motorcycle industry

(CQNEWS) Some 300 famous experts advised on the auto-motorcycle industry of Chongqing on October 28 in a forum held by Chongqing Association for Science and Technology, Chongqing Economic Commission and China Ordnance Society.
 
The auto-motorcycle and auto parts manufacturing industry have become the most important pillar industry of Chongqing at present.
 
Chongqing¡¯s annual output number of automobiles and motorcycles respectively reached 850,000 and 5.346 million by the end of 2007, an increase of 3.2 times and 3.02 times respectively compared with 10 years before that.
 
The output value of Chongqing¡¯s auto-motorcycle industry annually increased by 19.36 percent on average.
 
The enterprise who masters the new technology will occupy the market, said an expert. Chongqing¡¯s automobile enterprises should base on independent research, independent brand and independent development. The motorcycle enterprises should base on the development of core technology.
 
Chongqing aims to annually produce 1.5 million automobiles and 9 million motorcycles by 2010. The experts pointed out that the government should formulate favorable supporting policies, introduce international advanced technology and integrate resources of Chongqing¡¯s scientific research institutions.
