Report suggests US fleets to hold off on equipment purchases

The latest Fleet Equipment Buying Index issued by CK Commercial Vehicle Research in the US indicates fleets won’t be opening their wallets in the first quarter of 2009.

The index, which measures the intent of fleets to buy new vehicles, dropped 9% from the fourth quarter of 2008, according to the research group.

The company says its index is a “simple measure of planned buying behavior of for-hire, private and government fleets over the next three months.”
