Mission Motors unveils all-electric Mission One bike with 150 miles on a single

We hardly ever write about motorcycle here but?well make an exception here. Mission Motors, a company based in San Francisco, California, has unveiled the worlds fastest production all-electric motorcycle. Think of them like the Tesla Motors of the motorcycle world.

Power for the all-electric motorcycle comes from a lithium-ion battery pack mated to an electric motor that offers 100 lb-ft of torque at zero RPM. That allows the motor to deliver faster acceleration than most gasoline sportbikes without ever having to shift gears. On a full charge the bike gets a range 150 miles. Top speed comes in at 150 mph. Reaching a full charge takes about 2 hours at 240V and 8 hours at 120v.

The first 50 bikes will arrive in 2010 as a Limited Edition with prices starting at $68,995. Later this summer Mission Motors will unveil a more affordable Mission One model.
