Reva to release Lithium-ion electric car for European market

Reva Electric Car Company (REVA), the foremost in EV (electric vehicle) has publicized the release of the Reva Lithium ion vehicle. The novel electric car is powered by lithium-ion batteries and it is for European market. For the past two years Reva-Li-ion is under development and it is based on the earlier Reva-I platform (the present version of world's best selling city electric car). 

 

The users can travel in the car for about 120km (75 miles) on a full charge with a speed of 80km (50 miles)/h. In a hour, 90% will be charged in the case of Reva L-ion electric car. It is intended for organizations that entails constant vehicle during the day and it will be presented for buying or leasing. Further, its normal complete charging time is 6 hours with 80% charge enchanting 3.5 hours. Reva L-ion will be available in Norway, UK, France, Cyprus, Greece, Spain, Belgium and Ireland from 2009 February.

 

The company's established EV platform provides an increased range, faster acceleration, shorter charging time, less energy consumption, improved cold weather performance, maintenance-free battery operation and a longer operating life. Further, REVA has created a new smart battery management system for the Li-ion, said a senior representative of RECC. This system is capable of tracking the performance of each cell for uninterrupted performance and it provides three years of battery warranty.

 

RECC, the pioneer in the world of electric cars is also indulged in promoting kits that allow the present REVA owners to move to the lithium-ion later in 2009. For many years, the cars of RECC are sold as Reva in India and as G-Wiz in UK.
