Danish Company Preps 1,104-Horsepower Supercar for Production

VIBY, Denmark — The upcoming ST1 from the small Danish automaker Zenvo has all the characteristics of a true supercar. When it goes on sale 2009, it will be offered with absurd amounts of power and in extremely limited quantities, wrapped in its very own grotesque style. The 1,104-horsepower ST1 is powered by a supercharged and turbocharged 7.0-liter V8 mounted behind the seats and making 1,055 pound-feet of torque. Power is fed to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The ST1 will sprint to 60 mph from a stop in less than 3 seconds and can climb to speeds up to 233 mph.Standard supercar fare includes carbon-fiber body panels, forged aluminum wheels and a head-up display with a G-force meter. Carbon wheels, ceramic brake discs, unique leather interiors, custom paint and a roll cage will all be options. The Zenvo ST1 has been in development since 2004; the company plans to begin sales in 2009. Pricing hasn't been announced yet, but with just 15 ST1s scheduled to be built, it will surely be expensive.Inside Line says: Money can't buy style. — Eric Tingwall, Correspondent
