Continental re-enters India with four-wheeler tyres
Continental, the German tyre producer has again started its business in Indian four-wheeler tyre market place. By introducing products for passenger cars and utility vehicles, Continental has stepped into the Indian market.
To get the support from Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra for the materials and equipments, the company has involved in discussion with those companies.
The company has taken this action of entering into the Indian market is for their entire growth and commitment in the Asia Pacific region. The company hopes that they must involve actively in India by their growth in India in the field of auto industry. Further, the company is planning to improve and increase their market share in India, said Mr Andreas Esser, Executive Vice President (Replacement Asia) Continental Aktiengesellschaft.
From the company's 22 manufacturing facilities in and around the world their products would be imported. Moreover, the company has introduced their tyres for passenger car and utility in India, added Mr Andreas Esser. Presently, the company provides tyres by importing since the sales are very less. Further, the company will be focusing on manufacturing tyres in India once the sales reach a high level, said Mr Andreas Esser.
Esser refused to say regarding the company's plan to invest in India. Also, the company is involved in talk with Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra for their domestic and export vehicles by having coordination with India OEM.
