Europe inches towards CO2 deal

I'm not making a case; I'm stating an opinion, that's all. I like using less fuel, but it's more than just a cost issue for me. Yes, I do pay less tax when using less fuel, but that's a side effect of using less fuel. irrespective of the levels of tax on fuel, if you use less of it (fuel prices being equal), you spend less! Sorry of that disappoints you. You state that there's no clamour for fuel efficient cars in the US. Really? Care to demonstrate that by reference to facts? As stated before, I'm happy for you to use Harvard referencing for your sources. I disagree with your emotional assertion that luxury cars will be fined/taxed off the roads. A fine is usually a sum of money imposed as a penalty for an offense or dereliction; hardly legal now, is it? Taxed off the roads? No; there may be less of such vehicles, but they won't be taxed off the roads. What makes the laws communist? I am not aware of any such party or political movement in the EU which has the power to make legislation; are you alluding to something else? Might you be suggesting that the law is communist in spirit? Anyway, what's wrong with Smart cars? I quite like them. I don't NEED a big car. That's not to say I don't like some large vehicles; I just don't need them. Anyway, you have a little think about these points, and I'll check in tomorrow am. 'Night! (PS good to see that you have gone quiet on tax avoidance schemes. You make more sense by remaining silent on that one!)
