Mini-Mobile: The Electric-Powered Mini-Hummer Buggy
LONDON — Have you always wanted a Hummer but felt it wasn't practical to get one? The Mini-Hummer solves this problem: It sits on dubs and has that Hummer look without the gas-guzzling burden. The design of this electric powered open-sided buggy is close to a golf-cart, although its 40 mph top speed would blow any standard cart out of the water. A-minus-listers like Colin Montgomerie and Meatloaf were recently seen rolling in a Mini-Hummer for a round of golf, and they showed off the capability of the pint-sized Hummer by blasting music through the Sony speakers. And it's legal to drive off the links, too — the vehicle has been licensed for road use in the U.K. With the average speed of traffic in London being only 10 mph, the Mini-Hummer should fit in perfectly among the Smart cars. The vehicles come pimped out in a variety of colors, and standard features include self-adjusting hydraulic discs, 15-inch chrome wheels, diamond plate flooring and an all aluminum I-beam chassis. If you're willing to shell out a little more dough the Hummer can be further personalized with things like a full leather interior, gas engine, flame decals and a removable golf bag. It comes with a price tag of about $17,000. More information can be found at Mini-Hummer's Web site. Inside Line says: Would a set of 20s fit? — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
