Philadelphia Phillies' Cole Hamels, World Series MVP, Gets 2010 Camaro as Prize

PHILADELPHIA — Cole Hamels has racked up some impressive numbers in the baseball postseason: four wins in four starts, a 1.80 ERA, and both league championship and World Series MVP awards. The cherry on top: a bright-red 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, presented by Chevrolet and the commissioner of baseball on the Phillies' home field here Wednesday night. Not bad for someone who has just completed only his third season in the major leagues. The last time the Phillies won the World Series — 1980 — was three years before Hamels was born.Bloggers posted images of the Camaro being loaded into a truck to take it home. Possibly the left-handed pitcher had a little celebrating, rather than a test drive, in mind on the biggest night of his young life. Those of you who did not win the World Series MVP can purchase the 2010 Camaro for early-2009 delivery. It starts at $22,995 for the V6 model and $30,995 for the V8-powered SS.Inside Line says: This is just the kind of person GM needs to have seen driving its cars. — Laura Sky Brown, Correspondent
