Toyota To Export U.S.-Built Sequoia and Tundra

TORRANCE, California — For the first time ever, Toyota said it will export the Sequoia and from the United States to such overseas destinations as Latin America and the Middle East.Toyota said Sequoia exports to the Middle East are forecast at about 15,000 units a year, while Sequoia exports to Latin America are expected to be a modest 150 units a year. Tundra exports to Latin America are expected to be about 1,000 trucks a year.The Sequoia is built in Princeton, Indiana, while the Tundra is made in San Antonio.Shipments overseas will start in December.Inside Line says: Better than shutting down the plant, as U.S. sales of trucks and SUVs tumble. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
