Chrysler to axe a quarter of its staff

'White House explores aid for merger between GM and Chrysler' reports the International Herald Tribune.Chrysler′s names will vanish in the same way the Rootes groups names vanished after Chrysler and the Peugeot took them over. But the other thing is, doesn′t anyone remember that all three US giants took a load of US government cash to develop fuel efficient cars. This Clinton-era initiative resulted in GM showing a Tatra-esque concept car in 2000 while Ford showed the lovely Synergy. Chrysler also showed a hybrid car around this time plus a minimailist thing called the CCV. What became of that research? And if they had used the money to develop more than two show cars, GM at least wouln′t be in this mess now.And now, ten years later these creeps are looking for even more money?Isn′t this simply appalling? To answer the question on Head Up Displays, the feature can be found on the daringly exclusive Citroen C6. I think it was also used an Corvette in the 90s.
