Ensure your car tires have better road grip for this winter

Daylight savings time ends on October 26, and then winter is no longer far off. It’s high time, in other words, to fit your car out with winter tires. Fall mornings can already be quite cold. “The rubber compounds used for summer tires have been designed for high temperatures. When outdoor temperatures drop to seven degrees Celsius or below, these tires forfeit up to 40% of their adhesion. This can lead to dangerous braking, accelerating and cornering situations," says Professor Manfred Bandmann, president of the German Traffic Safety Council (DVR).
