Nissan Recalls More Than 200,000 Vehicles

NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Nissan is recalling 204,361 vehicles from model years 2007 and 2008 to correct a potentially faulty airbag control unit.Nissan said the recall affects the Infiniti EX35, G35 and G37, as well as the Nissan 350Z, Altima, Murano and Rogue. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the vehicles are equipped with an Occupant Classification System control unit made by Continental Automotive that could be defective. Under certain conditions, NHTSA said, 'this could result in the passenger airbag being suppressed, which could fail to provide adequate protection in the event of a crash.'The fix involves replacing the passenger-side seat cushion.Inside Line says: This one sounds serious.
