Special-edition GTA version of the 8C Competizione

Last month we told you that Alfa Romeo is considering a much lighter, faster and more powerful version of the its iconic flagship - the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. CEO Luca de Meo has been pushing the executives at Fiat for special-edition version of the 8C Competizione to celebrate Alfa Romeos centenary year in 2010.

According to AutoCar, the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione GTA will be 1,450kg lighter than the standard 8C and will be powered by the same 4.7 liter V8. However, power will be increased with some engine management extracting an additional 50 horses for a total of 500-hp.

Alfa Romeo will built only 100 units of the 8C Competizione GTA to coincide with its centenary year.
