GM: Chevrolet Volt photos were put up by error and taken down
Well - they werent taken down quick enough and allowed TheCarConnection enough time to grab the 10 photos and post them for everyone in the world to see. As many of you know by now -pictures of the upcoming and much-anticipated 2011 Chevrolet Volt popped up on GMs media site yesterday and were quickly posted on blogs around the world.
Those were put up in error and taken down quickly thereafter, Chevrolet spokesman Terry Rhadigan told The Detroit News. It was not intentional.
Thats a bit hard to believe since the photos seem to be strategically picked out by GMs PR department, hiding most of the Volt with the hunks of GM.
Either way, whats done is done and well see the Volt in all its glory next week (no idea why GM doesnt just release all the photos now). Production of the Volt is scheduled to begin in late 2010 at the Hamtramck plant. The plug-in hybrid is expected to get a 40 mile range on electric power alone on a single charge. Pricing is expected to come in right under $40,000.
