Italy Launches Diesel Engine Project in China

Italian auto giant Fiat is not only active in the United States and Europe, it also active in China. Fiat's Power Technology (FPT) officially announces launching the investment project, SAIC Fiat Hongyan Powertrain Limited (SFH) production base, which locates in Chongqing city Jiangbei Development Zone, and provides diesel engines products and ¡°green" power solutions for domestic and foreign customers.
 
SAIC Fiat Hongyan Powertrain was funded by SAIC Iveco Commercial Vehicle Investment Company (SI), FPT, and Chongqing Heavy Vehicle Group Co., Ltd. (CHVG)
 
Fiat said it effectively integrated advantaged resources and supply chains of three parent companies, European technology combined with local manufacture, ensure that FPT brand engines produced by the SFH have the same quality as engines produced in Europe.
 
It is reported, the emission of CURSOR9 diesel engines under SFH reaches Europe III, Europe ¢ô, Europe¢õ standard. Current diesel engines market in China is still in the upgrading phase from Country III standard, SFH hopes to take the shares in the market.
 
Currently, Zengqinghong, general manager of Guangzhou Automotive Industry Group Co., Ltd said Guangzhou Auto has purchased 1/3 shares of Hangzhou Iveco, which is a transmission factory under Fiat¡¯s Power Technology (FPT).
