Daimler fells the crunch

As if further proof were needed to showcase an ailing world auto industry, Daimler AG has announced plans to cut production by 45,000 units.

quating to roughly 3.5% of the sales in 2007, the cutback is not specific to a particular model. Instead, it is comprised of everything from the Mercedes-Bezn E-class to the S-class and of course, the SUVs.

Also in the works is a reevaluation of the company's sales goals for the year as the economic climate has changed significantly.
