Toyota Russia sales down 57% in H1

Toyota sales in Russia decreased 57.2% year-on-year to 38,000 vehicles in the January-June period, the company has said in a statement.
 
Toyota's best-selling cars in the period were the Corolla, with 8,299 cars sold, and Camry, with 9,559 cars sold.
 
Sales of Lexus cars fell 55.8% on the year to 3,251 cars in January-June. The most popular Lexus models in the period were SUVs - the Lexus RX 350, with 905 vehicles sold; and the Lexus LX 570, with 1,021 vehicles sold.
 
Most car companies are experiencing big falls in sales in Russia this year as a sharp economic downturn combined with a shortage of credit has hit sales hard.
