The total sales of China's bus segment surged significantly by 28.21% in the first half of this year, which is the highest growth rate in the recent five years.
From January to June, China's 50 bus enterprises produced 90,803 units, up 21.69% with a growth of 16185 units. The total sales soared by 28.21% to 92822 units, an increase of 20,422 units year on year (y/y). Large bus sales totaled 30,226 units, up 37.17% y/y, medium bus rose by 25.91% y/y to 36,840 units and the light bus sold 25,756 units, up 22.03% y/y.

Nine of the 50 enterprises achieved total sales growth, five of which increased by over 1,000 units and six of which shoot up by over 100%. Moreover, 16 bus companies posted a growth rate between 40% and 99%, an industry rarely seen growth these years.

June sales hit a historic new high in bus sales, with the 50 bus enterprises selling 23,078 units, surging 62.22% y/y. Five bus companies posted over 1,000 units sales that month, with Yutong selling 3,773 units, Suzhou Kinglong 1,909 units, Xiamen Kinglong1,888 units, Xiamen Golden Dragon 1,584 units and Zhongtong 1,295 units.
