Lotus confirms convertible Evora, high-performance S version expected
As we told you last month, more versions of the new 2010 Lotus Evora are on the way. Just weeks after its debut at the 2008 London Motor Show, Lotus has already confirmed that it is working on convertible version of the new Evora.
Lotus says that a convertible version of the Evora will be launched in late 2011 and since the lifespan of the Evora is expected to be 8-years - that should be early enough to keep the nameplate fresh.
The new Lotus Evora is powered by a 3.5 liter V6?DOHC, with dual VVT-i producing 275-hp with a peak torque of 252 lb-ft. According to AutoCar, a more powerful version is expected to arrive within two years with output increasing to 320-hp.
A hardcore S version is also expected with a supercharger increasing output to more than 400-hp. 0-60 for the S version is estimated at under 4 seconds.
