Edge Products¡¯ latest offering is designed to give a boost to fuel economy in Ford vehicles.
 
The new Mileage Max module for 2003-2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstrokes is a simple plug-n-play module that installs in less than 10 minutes. The company says it has proven gains in fuel economy of up to 7 percent and delivers a boost of up to 25 extra horsepower.
 
The Mileage Max installs under the hood in minutes. With no buttons to push, switches to flip or monitoring required, the Mileage Max module was designed for the everyday customer who uses their truck for anything from daily driving to cross-country hauling. Testing procedure
 
The Mileage Max was developed and tested by Edge engineers using a repeatable road test towing a light load, and on a Mustang dynamometer to duplicate typical driving conditions. On the dyno, both input and return fuel lines from the test truck were run into a separate tank containing a known quantity of fuel placed on an extremely accurate digital scale. With the truck fully warmed, the truck¡¯s cruise control was set to 70 mph in overdrive and a constant load applied to simulate the road test. The weight of the consumed fuel was then subtracted from the original weight and converted into miles per gallon
 
Repeated test results showed the Mileage Max consistently delivered up to a 7 percent improvement in fuel economy (depending on year and model of the vehicle) and an increase of up to 25 horsepower. In order to ensure accuracy, several tests were performed and an average made with and without the Mileage Max using the same conditions on the same road test and dyno.
